The brief: InspoHub were brought in to produce highlight and VT content, a bolt-on to provide content to the live coverage which was being produced by High Viz Media Group.
How InspoHub attacked it: Ben was onsite, integrating into the High Viz Media team to develop content which could add value to their live stream coverage.
With over 100 teams on site and a target audience of professionals in the motorsport industry, fellow students and prospective future competitors there was a wide range of goals driving the content created by both the live and highlights teams. To tell as many of the personal stories of struggle and success as possible, content volume was key. Due to access to competitors and relationships built by the highlights team, editorial stories were led from this area. Pre-production meetings and a strong trust relationship meant that scripts, content and their place in the story were fed directly to the live production workflow efficiently and without need for explanation. Turning around such a volume of content and fitting seamlessly to the live production was only possible in this way with a tight workflow we were operating.
To create a tangible video product which competitors could take away and cherish, we chose to close the event with a highlight video shot and edited as a short film. This gave substance and truly did justice to the event, which was not possible in a one minute social media style highlight clip.
